Chef Prepared Meals Delivered

1. What’s the ordering process?
Register: Check to make sure we service your zip code. You can do this by entering your zip code on the home page. You’ll be asked to enter a username and password and a few other fields of info so we know where to deliver.

After you Register/Login: Select your delivery day (this determines the correct menu to display), the menu items you want in the quantity you desire, and checkout.

Some customers place their next order the same day their delivery arrives ensuring they never run out of prepared meals, when you notice that you only have a few days of meals left or others order several weeks in a row. You can also sign up for the Auto Meal Delivery Service that save you more time and guarantee a delivery spot.

2. What’s the preparation and meal delivery service process?
European Personal Chef Julio shops, prepares your meals from scratch and delivers them to your home or office on Monday.  Unless a standing delivery plan has been arranged, European Personal Chef Julio calls the evening before to give a one-hour delivery time based on the number of orders to prepare and deliver.

For your first delivery, European Personal Chef Julio likes to meet the first time to introduce himself and answer any questions. However, if no one is able to be home between 8a-12p, please call with access instructions to a garage or in home fridge. Food cannot be left outside.

European Personal Chef Julio needs 1½ days to shop for your order so we require your order be placed by Sat 9pm for a Mon delivery. Orders are limited due to the fresh nature of preparation, therefore to ensure the best selection of delivery days we suggest you order early.

3. What areas do you serve with your Chef Prepared Meals Delivered service?
We serve most Orange County cities east of the 55 freeway and most of Corona. You'll know if we serve your area if you're able to register with your zip code. If you're out of our service area, please note that we can also deliver to a business office or friend/relative's home.

We're also always expanding into new areas based on demand. If your zip code is not currently being serviced, you'll have the option to enter your name and email to be notified when we've added your area.

4. How long will the meals stay fresh?
European Personal Chef Julio cooks and delivers the same day.  He personally buys the freshest food and packages your meals in high quality, airtight containers. The seafood, cut fruit, and salads should be enjoyed within two days to ensure maximum freshness. All other items are guaranteed to stay fresh for five days.

5. How are the meals packaged?
European Personal Chef Julio knows that people eat with their eyes first. With that in mind, he packages your entrées in high quality oven AND microwave safe containers. Your sides come in microwave safe containers. You don't have to dirty a pan.

Items that do not need to be heated (e.g., fruit, salad, etc.) are packaged in attractive cold containers.

All packages include labels with simple heating instructions. Heating instructions are also available online.

6. Do you offer special diet menus?
We accommodate many different types of diets. Whether you’re counting carbs, fats, calories, Weight Watchers Points®, or something else, we display nutrition labels, exchanges and Weight Watchers Points® for each suggested meal and menu item.

European Personal Chef Julio plans each meal (entree & sides) based on a healthy balanced method as outlined by the American Dietetic/Diabetes Association. However, please note that sides are only suggestions and can be substituted to accommodate your personal needs.

In addition, the following icons and menu groupings are used to help you see which meals fit into your dietary goals:

heart healthy meals  = Heart Healthy (suggested meal is <=25g fat or 3 fat exchanges)
spa weight watchers points meals  = Spa/Low Weight Watchers Points® (suggested meal is <= 13 points)
diabetes meals diabetic meals  = Diabetes Compatible (suggested meal is 45-75g carbs or 3-5 carb exchanges)
kid friendly meals family meals  = Kid Friendly

You will also be able to see your personal menus protein, fat and carb average in our "Nutrition Meter."

There isn’t one perfect diet that works for everyone; everybody’s body chemistry reacts differently and needs to be checked against his or her diet. However, our philosophy is eating balanced meals in proper portion sizes and obtaining consistent exercise.

7. How often do you change your menu's?
European Personal Chef Julio  plans the menus based on the four seasons and changes them every two weeks. This variety results in 26 menus a year where you can experience over 300 different entrees throughout the year!

8. What if I don’t want to order from my computer?
Please call us at 877-969-2433 and we can mail, fax, or email a printed menu. You can fill it out by hand and fax it or call us with your order by phone. However online you get full entrée descriptions, pictures, nutritional analysis, and immediate delivery confirmation.

9. What are your food quality and preparation standards?
We purchase fresh quality food from the finest vendors and use:
  • Healthy fats and occasionally minimal amounts of butter
  • Reduced fat cheeses
  • Organic herbs, milk, and mixed greens
  • Whole wheat pasta and bread whenever possible
  • Choice cuts of meat
  • And since European Chef Julio’s father was a fisherman he knows how to select the freshest fish

  • 10. Why eat our prepared meals instead of grocery stores prepared meals?
    Food at grocery stores are:
  • Often not prepared by professional culinary trained chefs
  • Use imitation ingredients (e.g., krab vs crab)
  • Are prepared for mass production to last 6+ months and therefore add preservatives
  • There’s no need for preservatives if you plan to consume the food fresh. Compare the ingredients listed on the back of a grocery store prepared mashed potatoes versus ours:

    Theirs

    Ours

Potatoes, salt, sodium acid pyrophosphate, citric acid, potassium sorbate, ascorbic acid, milk, dehydrated potatoes, mono and diglycerides, sodium acid pyrophosphate, sodium bisulfite, citric acid, mixed tocopherols, partially hydrogenated canola oil, salt, lecithin, artificial butter flavor, beta-carotene, TBHQ, dimethylpolysiloxane, modified food starch, spices, xanthan gum Potatoes, light butter, half & half, parsley, kosher salt, freshly ground black pepper

    11. What are the ADA guidelines and how do you use them?
The American Dietetic Association (ADA) designed nutritional ratios to make it easy for people to plan several days meals. You may get more nutrition one day, less the next, but the idea is to hit an average over several days. That way, you don’t have to follow the ADA standards every single day of your life. The guidelines were meant to be broken once in awhile. That way you can eat guilt free from the buffet table at your friends wedding one day and compensate the next few days. By the end of the week, you’re likely to have averaged out to the desirable ranges. The current ADA guidelines are as follows:

    Fat = 20-35%
    Protein = 10-35%
    Carbohydrates = 45-65%

Unfortunately, families don’t have time or the skills to plan their food for the week let alone calculate the nutritional values to see if they are meeting the guidelines. Eating is one of life’s greatest pleasures. It shouldn’t be a chore.

Since we are providing you several days of meals, we're able to compare your menu against the guidelines. Our proprietary "Nutritional Meter" will display your selected menu averages against the guidelines.

    12. What kind of event menus do you offer and how do I book a private chef or catering services?
Choose from our pre-designed and mix & match menus or your European Private Chef Julio will customize a menu to your preferences. European Private Chef Julio will then prepare a proposal for you to review along with any other additional services you may request. After reviewing the proposal, all you need to do is place a deposit to hold your event.

    13. What are your cooking specialties?
Professional chefs with Culinary Arts degrees can typically prepare most items because they are classically trained which gives them the basic building blocks of most cooking styles. European Private Chef Julio is blessed to be challenged to prepare all kinds of ethnic meals (i.e., Hawaiian, French, German, Chinese, etc.) everyday.

However, since European Private Chef Julio's father was a fisherman, he grew up around seafood.  He also enjoys cooking Mediterranean cuisine such as Spanish Italian and French along with Portuguese.

    14. What areas do you serve with your In-Home Private Chef & Food Catering Services?
There are no limits. However, there is a nominal trip charge if outside of Orange County or Riverside County.

    15. Would if I have more than six guests that want to attend?
That's fine. Six maximum can participate hands-on, the additional guests can sit back and watch demo style. You can even rotate others into the hands-on group. If you would like full size portions of the food to eat beyond six, we will charge an additional $25 per person - the cost of food without instruction.
